Location: Chicago, IL
Square Footage: +2,500 square feet

The Kennison in Lincoln Park is named after David Kennison, who gained popularity by claiming he was “the last surviving member of the Boston Tea Party and a soldier of the revolutionary war.” His stories made him so well-liked that when he passed away his funeral had the largest attendance recorded at that time. David Kennison’s grave is marked with a boulder located directly across the street from the restaurant. At the Kennison patrons can pay homage to “one of Chicago's greatest con-men.”

The Kennison’s history paired well with the overall rich history of Lincoln Park, and guided our design for the project. We also developed new logos and a new branding package to further elevate the brand. Combined with the new design of the space, the Kennison embraces a nostalgic American revival vibe and merges 1850’s design with more modern finishes and details.
